Announcement of the FY2023 Human Resource Development Program for the Digital Society
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is promoting initiatives aimed at urban implementation of services utilizing cutting-edge technologies in Nishi-Shinjuku, an area of Smart Tokyo prior implementation.
As in the previous year, we will hold the "Digital Society Human Resource Development Program" in Nishi-Shinjuku. We will also hold a briefing session prior to the program, so if you are interested in the program, please join us.
1 Outline of Preliminary Briefing
A preliminary information session will be held for students who are considering participating in the program.

2 Overview of Program Content
(1) Digital courses
This online digital course will consist of 5 sessions of approximately 180 minutes each, with the theme of solving city issues by utilizing the power of digital technology. Through lectures by leading experts and hands-on group work, participants will learn a wide range of topics, from problem identification to solutions utilizing the power of digital technology.
(2) Interns
We are recruiting interns to participate in the "Nishi-Shinjuku Advanced Service Implementation Industry-Government-Academia Consortium". The interns will experience the workplaces of companies that promote urban implementation of services utilizing cutting-edge technologies.
(3) Idea Contest
We are calling for participants in the Idea Contest with the theme of "Ideas for solving city issues with the power of digital. The five or so groups or individuals that pass the preliminary screening will be asked to create a prototype of their idea, receiving advice from experts and other professionals. On the day of the contest, the winners will be selected through presentations and demonstrations in front of judges and observers.
(4) Community
We provide a place where participants can interact with each other in an online community. Participants can meet and deepen friendships with peers who share common interests in digital technology, solving social issues, etc.
3 Requirements for public application
Students 18 years of age or older who belong to educational institutions such as universities (graduate schools), technical colleges, and vocational schools
- No major is required. Students majoring in digital-related fields are welcome, as well as other students. Necessary knowledge, etc. can be learned through digital courses.
- Any location is acceptable. However, for the internship and idea contest, you will be required to participate in the event at the Tokyo venue, if necessary.
4 Participation fees
There is no fee to participate in this program. However, participants are responsible for their own transportation and other expenses.

Applicants will be notified of their participation by Monday, August 10 to the e-mail address provided in the application form.
