Smart Services Deployment Project
Smart Service Deployment Support Business
With an eye toward expanding beyond Nishi-Shinjuku to other areas of Tokyo, we are seeking proposals for projects that address the specific challenges and social issues faced by each area,
and that create services—from development and feature expansion to full-scale implementation—with the potential for future horizontal expansion.
About
About This Project
With the aim of realizing "Smart Tokyo"—a vision to unlock Tokyo’s potential through digital technology—the Tokyo Metropolitan Government established the Nishi-Shinjuku Advanced Service Implementation Industry-Government-Academia Consortium (hereinafter referred to as the "Nishi-Shinjuku Consortium") in Nishi-Shinjuku, a pilot area for Smart Tokyo. Through this consortium, the government, industry, and academia have collaborated to promote the urban implementation of smart services utilizing cutting-edge technologies.
To expand the results of this initiative to other areas of Tokyo, we have been implementing the “Smart Service Expansion Support Program” since fiscal year 2025 to support member companies of the Nishi-Shinjuku Consortium in creating smart services, enhancing their functionality, and expanding into other areas of Tokyo.
Overview
Call for Proposals
We are inviting proposals for projects that will create and expand services—from development to implementation—that address the challenges faced by specific areas and contribute to solving social issues, with a view to expanding beyond Nishi-Shinjuku to other areas within Tokyo and with the potential for future horizontal expansion.
The themes for the projects being solicited are based on the themes of the Nishi-Shinjuku Consortium’s eight existing subcommittees. However, applications in new fields are also accepted if they align with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s smart city initiatives.
Please note that each applicant may submit only one proposal, and we plan to select approximately four projects for this initiative.
