Organize an idea contest utilizing digital technology to solve social issues
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government established the "Nishi-Shinjuku Advanced Service Implementation Industry-Government-Academia Consortium (hereinafter referred to as the "Consortium")" in September last year to further promote initiatives for urban implementation of cross-field services such as urban development and work styles in Nishi-Shinjuku, a Smart Tokyo Advanced Implementation Area, utilizing 5G and advanced technologies. In September last year, we established the "Nishi-Shinjuku Advanced Service Implementation Industry-Government-Academia Consortium" (hereinafter referred to as the "Consortium").
In addition, in order to incorporate new perspectives and flexible ideas of the younger generation into future urban development, we are implementing a digital human resource development program in collaboration with the Consortium, using Nishi-Shinjuku as a field, with the aim of developing human resources who will take on the challenge of solving urban issues through the use of digital technology.
As part of the Digital Society Human Resource Development Program, we will hold an idea contest (second round of judging) for ideas submitted by participating students to solve social issues in Nishi-Shinjuku through the use of digital technology.
The content of this contest will be streamed online, and in addition to a panel of expert judges, viewers will be invited to vote as observer judges to determine the winner.
We are looking forward to seeing many people, including students as well as those interested in digital technology!
Idea contest (second round of judging)
- 1 Outline of the event
The Digital Society Human Resource Development Program invited digital course students to submit ideas for solving social issues in Nishi-Shinjuku, and held a preliminary screening last November.
Based on interviews with residents and visitors to Nishi-Shinjuku and advice from experts, students will actually create prototypes of services for the five ideas that passed the preliminary screening, and a second round of the idea contest will be held to select the best among the prototypes.
In the contest, students will present their ideas and demonstrations of the prototypes they have created in a presentation format.
The winners will also present their ideas at the Consortium's results briefing (scheduled for March) and exchange opinions with Consortium members and others. - 2 Date and Time
