Digital Lecture - City Planning in the Digital Age" was held!
Hello everyone! The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is implementing the "Digital Society Human Resource Development Program" for students, using Nishi-Shinjuku as a field! Through the program, we will further accelerate the resolution of social issues through digital technology by developing "human resources for digital society".
We started accepting applications for the program on July 11, and 125 university, graduate, and technical college students have applied for the program!

Digital Lecture Day1 Manufacturing in the Digital Age
Based on the spread of digital technology and trends in today's society, participants learned the basics of agile development, which is necessary to develop services and products that solve urban issues using digital technology. The participants also had a team-building session using Miro with their colleagues who will work in the group together in the future.

Digital Lecture Day2 Problem Discovery and Idea Generation in the Digital Age
Using interviews with Nishi-Shinjuku users as the subject matter, participants learned methods from problem identification to solution idea generation and convergence, and deepened their understanding through group work. They also learned how to analyze field observations and interviews in preparation for the Nishi-Shinjuku fieldwork to be conducted after Day 2.
In addition, Mr. Murakami of the Shinjuku Subcenter Area Environmental Improvement Committee gave an overview of the issues facing Nishi-Shinjuku and the current efforts being made.

Conducted fieldwork in Nishi-Shinjuku
Each group conducted fieldwork to identify issues in Nishi-Shinjuku through actual visits to Nishi-Shinjuku, interviews with Nishi-Shinjuku users, desktop research, etc., and analyzed the issues using what they learned in Day 2.
Digital Course Day3 Embodying Ideas in the Digital Age
In order to solve the problems they discovered with the power of digital technology, the participants learned about the Lean Startup method, which efficiently produces digital products and services that meet user needs. They also learned about the prototyping method for concretizing and brushing up their ideas, and had hands-on experience with prototyping tools.

Mr. Kato of WAmazing, Inc. introduced advanced DX initiatives in the inbound tourism industry as an example of using digital technology to solve social issues.

Each group created a proposal based on the Lean Canvas framework by devising a service/product that uses the power of digital technology to solve a problem in the city of Nishi-Shinjuku that they had discovered.
Digital Course Day4 Commercialization in the Digital Age
Each group was asked to present the project they worked on in this course to solve a problem in the Nishi-Shinjuku area, and the other groups answered questions and received feedback from the mentors.
